The Melbourne Manned Aircraft Design (MAD) Center of Excellence (CoE) is seeking a Systems Engineer under Systems Engineering to support key program/s in the Aeronautics Systems Sector (NGAS). The selected candidate will perform system engineering activities for all levels of a total system product, including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. The selected candidate will perform use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Features and Subsystem Features to be developed by program Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to implement customer-requested capabilities. The selected candidate will also communicate Features and Subsystem Features relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs systems integration, and verification for total systems.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software features.
- Support Feature Definition, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into Features, and further allocate to lower levels.
- Coordinate across ARTs to ensure full decomposition of Features
- Define and execute overall system verification plan and associated products for FCA. Coordinate verification with ARTs to ensure proper verification roll-up. Manage overall verification products in support of system sell-off.
- Work on an agile team utilizing Jira to track work progress
- Experience with MBSE/SysML Modeling using Rhapsody or Cameo.

- Systems Engineer Qualifications: Bachelors in STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2 years engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM with 0 years of experience
- Principal Systems Engineer Qualifications - Bachelors in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years engineering related experience, OR Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience
- Must be able to obtain additional Special Access Program (SAP) clearance before establishing a start date (contingency).
- Active (In-Scope) DOD Secret Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with training systems
- Understanding of the training system lifecycle
- Experience with aircrew simulator design and development
