Moog Space and Defense Group is excited to announce an opportunity for a Systems Business Segment Director in our Propulsion Systems Business Unit within the Space Division.

This is a Senior Leadership position that is accountable to lead the Systems Business Segment, a core growth business within the Propulsion Systems Business Unit. The role is tasked with setting the strategic direction for sales growth, product line strategy, P&L accountability, and KPI measurement and improvement within the segment.

To be considered for this role, here’s what you will need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related discipline

    • Master’s degree in engineering or business or related discipline is preferred

  • 12+ years of experience with managing business functions in a diverse environment

  • Demonstrated P&L leadership experience, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, commercial negotiations, and sales organization management.

  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence, align, and drive decisions across cross-functional teams through diplomacy, collaboration, and negotiation.

  • Exceptional business and financial acumen, including experience with contract management, risk assessment, business planning, and financial decision-making.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution.

  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and networking skills, with the ability to develop and maintain trusted partnerships with customers, leadership teams, and key stakeholders.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and driving organizational results.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Here's what you will be responsible for on a day-to-day basis:

  • Setting, communicating and executing the strategic plan for the Systems Business Segment.

  • Managing the Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet for the business segment, while setting appropriate targets for Bookings, Sales, Profit, etc.

  • Managing day-to-day program execution of complex development and production programs across multiple different customers.

  • Building strong relationships with customers, industry partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders across Moog to drive collaboration, share best practices, and support overall business success.

  • Maintaining an organization based on improving customer metrics and relationships as well as internal metrics that drive customer satisfaction (e.g. on-time delivery, product quality), while serving as the customer escalation point.

  • Supporting new business opportunities in addition to the existing business unit plans based upon international and domestic market needs.

  • Serving as a key member of the Propulsion Business Unit Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, business performance reviews, capital planning, and execution of business objectives.

  • Partnering closely with peers across the Propulsion Systems Business Unit to develop the appropriate workforce and capital plans to support the business segment.

  • Ensuring that we track progress with respect to the strategic plan and actively engage with the Propulsion Systems Business Unit leadership team and others to address gaps to achieve the plan.

Salary Range Transparency:

Niagara Falls, NY $175,000.00–$230,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
