What does a day in the life of a System Analyst look like?
The System Analyst of Systems oversee analyzing complex systems within Fulfillment WMS for Saddle Creek associates within a thriving warehouse, start-up location, campus, or region. This role supports quality and stability of system changes through collaboration with QA processes, including the use of SmartBear for testing and validation. The System Analyst plays a key role in ensuring system enhancements and fixes are thoroughly tested and production-ready by leveraging SmartBear to support regression testing, validation of system changes, and continuous improvement of testing practices in alignment with established SOP’s. Day‑to‑day activities include participating in Agile Scrum Methodology analysis and test assignments, utilizing Smartbear tool to maintain and further develop automated test cases, and manage monthly build deployments with WMS vendor to ensure quality execution.
Working with associates to diagnose application issues, resolve user‑reported problems, plan, and coordinate development efforts, execute and support testing (manual and automated), collaborate with vendors, report progress to leadership, and partner closely with other IS teams. As our new System Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Systems and work directly with corporate information services (IS) to complete or lead tactical and strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Utilizes the following systems: WMS, OMS, Parcel Systems, SmartBear, MicroStrategy, & Sigma
- Participates in Saddle Creek Sprint through Analysis, Configuration, and Testing assignments for system enhancements
- Test system functionality through writing and performing test scripts in collaboration with operations
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, business cases, and operational improvements by quantifying impact, risks, and opportunities
- Translate business questions and operational needs into clear analytical requirements and actionable insights
- Present analytical findings in a clear, concise, and business‑focused manner tailored to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Write functional business requirements, develops solutions by preparing documentation and evaluating alternative solutions to gain approval across business
- Manage Automated Testing best practices across multiple warehouse systems
- Support and execute system testing efforts using SmartBear, including participation in regression testing and validation of multiple warehouse systems
- Assist in maintaining and improving SmartBear test assets by identifying gaps, documenting scenarios, and supporting continuous improvement of testing processes
- Provide guidance and knowledge‑sharing to other System Analysts on testing best practices and SmartBear usage as it relates to system changes
- Coordinate System deployments ensure quality execution of new features
- Capture key metrics for build deployments related to build quality and test case utilization
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Responsible for playing a key role in interacting with other enterprise systems to drive design and develop system improvements
- Effectively communicates project status reports including foreseen obstacles and restraints to team members and stakeholders
- Will be required to partake in on-call rotation

Must Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is required. Advanced degrees(s) are a plus.
- At least 2 years of development experience or a Computer Science/Computer Engineering degree.
- At least 3 years of experience working within Information Services or equivalent systems experience.
- Experience with test automation
- Be willing to travel for business up to 10% of the time.
- Must be self-motivated and ability to “Learn on-the-fly.”
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business process and systems analysis skills.
- Ability to recognize problems and implement systems-based solutions.
- Perform as an effective contributor in a team-oriented environment and accomplish desired results with a high degree of quality.

- Business experience in the supply chain industry and multiple industry verticals
