We are looking for a Systems Administrator (SA) to join our growing team in Annapolis Junction, MD and Bluffdale, Utah.

This role is ideal for a motivated IT professional with a passion for system reliability, performance optimization, and supporting mission-critical infrastructure. As a key member of our technical operations group, the SA will:

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
  • Configure and manage enterprise-grade operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Rocky Linux, and Windows. Perform OS installation, patching, and tuning; troubleshoot system and network components; and implement enhancements to improve reliability, performance, and scalability across diverse environments.
  • Support the description of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
  • Support and maintain HPC tools such as Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine
  • Manage distributed file systems like Lustre or GPFS, and troubleshoot I/O performance issues
  • Monitor and maintain high-speed interconnects such as InfiniBand, Slingshot, or Omni-Path

Requirements:
Level 1-At least five (5) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Level 2-Ten (10) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or 
university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s 
degree.

Level 3- Fifteen (15) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or 
university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s 
degree.

Desired:
  • Experience supporting and maintain HPC architectures including Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) and Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) systems to enable scalable, high-throughput computing.
  • Experience integrating and managing Special Purpose Devices (SPD) such as FPGAs, ASICs, and GPUs, ensuring seamless hardware/software interaction and optimal performance.
  • Experience collaborating with software integration engineers and technical experts to enhance system-level performance, scalability, and reliability through co-design and cross-functional optimization
 
Security Clearance:
  • A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.

Skills Required

  • At least five years of experience as a Systems Administrator
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Ten years of experience as a Systems Administrator for Level 2
  • Fifteen years of experience as a Systems Administrator for Level 3
