HostPapa is seeking a proactive, reliable, and resourceful Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux web hosting infrastructure. In this role, you will monitor system performance, assist the Support team as needed, and escalate issues promptly. Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset are essential for success in this position.
What you’ll do:
- Monitor server performance and address issues promptly through mitigation or escalation
- Troubleshoot, report, and escalate hardware-related problems
- Audit hosting servers to enhance performance, uptime, and resource efficiency
- Identify and resolve security and abuse issues at the user account level, following company policies
- Perform account migrations within the infrastructure
- Utilize IPMI remote management tools for file system checks and system diagnostics
About you:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator in a web hosting environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve common web hosting issues, such as mail deliverability, high CPU load, and Apache outages
- Proficiency in Rocky or AlmaLinux 8/9 and familiarity with tools like cPanel, CloudLinux, LAMP stack, and Linux system diagnostics tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience with virtualization systems (preferably KVM) at both the hypervisor and guest VM levels
- Basic bash scripting skills with the ability to interpret and modify scripts as needed
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and proactively improve processes
- Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering excellent service
