As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Arcera's Microsoft-based IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical systems while supporting business operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2019/2022/2025) and associated roles/services (DNS, DHCP, File/Print, IIS) - Linux experience is a plus.
- Administer Active Directory (on-premises and hybrid with Entra ID/Azure AD): manage users, groups, group policies (GPO)
- Administer Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environments: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune (for device management)
- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and updates.
- Incident response, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, connectivity problems and perform root cause analysis.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting, create custom scripts for monitoring/diagnostics, and support configuration management.
- Ensure security compliance: apply patches and support the remediation of vulnerabilities
- Provide technical support, documentation, and training to end-users or junior staff; collaborate on IT projects
- Maintain inventory, asset documentation, and prepare reports on system status.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Over 4 years in IT systems administration, with strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies.
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Experience working in a GxP environment is a plus
- Certifications: Any Microsoft certifications are a plus.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server and desktop OS (Windows 10/11).
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
- Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
- PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Administration of Vmware.
- Basic networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
- Security concepts (patching, MFA, Zero Trust, compliance).
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, ability to work independently with flexibility over hours, strong teamwork across multiple geographies and the ability to work in a constantly changing environment.
