Job Summary
The Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining network infrastructure or systems infrastructure depending on assignment, resolving technical issues, and using a proactive problem-solving approach to ensure seamless connectivity across the organization. The incumbent will apply knowledge and experience, including an understanding of the OSI model and good operational practices to achieve this.
Job Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain network hardware including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Monitor network and systems performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
- Replace or upgrade faulty components as needed.
- Collaborate with users to troubleshoot and resolve system-related concerns.
- Implement patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure network and systems security and reliability.
- Coordinate installations and upgrades with internal teams and external vendors.
- Respond to system alerts and lead troubleshooting efforts in complex environments.
- Maintain accurate records of network diagrams, device configurations, and backup protocols.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Periodic after hours on-call
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field, along with relevant technical certifications.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Six (6) months work study or internship
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience with network administration or a related IT role
License/Certifications
- None required; CCNA, CCNP, or Network + Preferred
- Valid Driver's license with no moving violations in the last 5 years

Skills Required
