The Digital Modernization sector of Leidos has an opportunity for a Systems Administrator located in Fort Meade, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting systems administration, engineering, integration, test, and deployment activities for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) on the Cross Domain Enterprise Solutions (CDES) team. As you get more established on the sys admin side, you will have the opportunity to grow with our integration team and start providing technical analysis for a wide variety of systems engineering and integration activities, evaluating products for compliance with requirements and applicable standards, and defining preliminary processes to solve complex engineering issues. This is a great opportunity for someone with DoD experience and foundational Linux systems administration knowledge to cross-train and grow into a Systems Integration Engineer in a highly collaborative, teamwork-focused environment. This position is 100% on-site and a Top Secret clearance is required to start.
Primary Responsibilities
You will be responsible for Linux systems and COTS/GOTS product integration and servers providing front-end and back-end application support development, integration and testing in preparation for operational deployment of COTS and GOTS products. You will install, configure and maintain operating systems including back-end databases and performing scripts. You will perform systems maintenance by reviewing error logs, creating backups, analyzing system performance. Duties include:
- Develop, integrate and test COTS/GOTS products and server OS with installation and configuration of software and hardware on pre-production and production environments.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Set up accounts and workstations.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues and outages.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
- Ensure security compliance of the integration and test infrastructure using DoD security analysis techniques including the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management process and applying appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guides for relevant components
- Conduct performance analysis and technology maturity assessments of emerging technologies through application review and load testing.
- Perform systems integration, test, and deployment of cross domain solutions and related technologies on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VMware ESX Platforms.
- Deploy hardware, install base operating systems, install software applications, and provide network configuration for a variety of hardware categories (workstations, servers, network switches, storage arrays, and network load balancing devices).
Basic Qualifications
- Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- IAT level II Certification (i.e. COMPTIA Security)
- BS and 4+ years of IT or DoD/Military experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience with RedHat / Linux servers (installation, configuration, maintenance)
- Familiarity with operations, patching, vulnerability management and operating systems upgrades and COTS upgrades.
- Ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone, email, and in person with customers and management.
- Proven technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Network Devices such as Load Balancers, Routers and switches.
- Experience with MySQL Database and Microsoft Active Directory
- Experience with developing policy in Broadcom Layer7 or other API-based application gateways.
- COTS Integration experience
- Experience with cross-domain solutions.

Pay Range:Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
