This Systems Administrator position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise network, server, and virtualization environments in a secure federal setting. The role supports Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere/Horizon, and network monitoring tools while troubleshooting system issues, responding to alerts, and delivering exceptional customer support. Candidates should have extensive experience with Windows and VMware technologies, a Top Secret clearance, and a strong ability to implement and support IT infrastructure solutions both on-premises and in cloud environments.

What you’ll do:
- Manage and maintain enterprise servers and systems infrastructure
- Administer Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and associated systems
- Configure and maintain network monitoring systems
- Perform system patching, updates, and maintenance
- Manage user accounts and access controls
- Implement backup and recovery procedures
- Support virtual desktop infrastructure
- Troubleshoot complex system issues
- Monitor system performance and security
- Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures
- Provide technical consultation and training
- Manage asset inventory and licensing
- Generate required systems reports and metrics
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree with 4 years of system administration experience
- Minimum 6 years of system administration experience
- Active Secret clearance
- Strong experience with Microsoft server technologies
- Expertise in system security implementation
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Experience with enterprise storage systems
- Proficiency in backup and recovery procedures
- Understanding of network protocols and architecture
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certification
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification
SALARY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $79,000.00
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
- The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
- The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
- Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
- This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses
- Company-paid training and/or certifications
- Referral bonuses
