Job Description 

As a System Test Lead Engineer, you will be leading the Sustainable Energy business unit team responsible for design and test of the firmware, APIs, tools and services including requirements definition, development and executing C/C++ code, validation and documenting operations to implement test solutions for analog and digital devices for full platforms solutions. This is an opportunity to join a multi-functional engineering team to build the strategy creating new Sustainable Energy solutions. Our development team is distributed around the globe, so you will be working with a diverse experienced team to help with gathering the technical data needed to be successful. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • You will be contributing to the design, implementation, and documentation of board level C/C++ code as part of a project team
  • You must be self-directed and capable of collaborating with local and global teams to deliverable on committed scope and schedule
  • You will participate in a full software development life cycle and adherence to a quality management system
  • Collaboration with System Architects, Algorithm Designers, Hardware & Verification Engineers to take high-level system architecture and translate into working design
  • Develop comprehensive test strategies and plans, aligning with project goals and requirements
  • Define the scope, objectives, resources, and schedule for testing activities
  • Determine the appropriate testing levels and criteria.
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and implement appropriate tools and frameworks
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure proper test coverage and adherence to quality standards
  • Execute tests and analyze results to identify defects and issues
  • Prepare and present test reports, summarizing test results, findings, and recommendation
  • Provide feedback to developers on identified issues and areas for improvement
  • Communicate test status and progress to stakeholders
  • Manage and mentor the test team, providing guidance and support to junior testers
  • Be a part of the technical leadership in defining Software architecture for the system
  • Put in place modern software-engineering best practices for the team
  • Support building out the software development team

Minimum Qualifications/skills:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 10+ years of software test experience
  • Experience in leading architecture and test design definition
  • Experienced in developing software or firmware on embedded devices for energy-related applications (metering, power conversion, energy storage, transmission and distribution)
  • Strong engineering background in embedded system design including SoC architecture, system architectures and operating systems
  • Detailed knowledge of ARM and/or RISC-V processor subsystem architectures, on chip interconnects, and advanced debug and trace
  • Solid C/C++, C# and Python language skills, and software design for multi-threading and multi-processor application
  • Solid background in developing automated tests using C#, C and Python
  • Experience with common development tools, environments, compilers, build management software, debugging and source control tools such as IAR compiler and IDE, configuration management, and issue tracking tools
  • Experience reviewing, porting, and integrating third-party code, or using application frameworks
  • Demonstratable Object Oriented design skills, with experience in State Machine implementation
  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART.
  • Experience in communication protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, WiFi is an advantage
  • Experience with memory management, interrupt controller, BSP development and driver development
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting firmware/hardware interfaces using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and debuggers is an advantage
  • Experience with developing unit tests, test automation, and skills with developing Unit Test, Integration Test and System Test
  • Experienced working with geographically distributed design teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills
  • Ability to work as a team member in both Waterfall and Agile development frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience in a software test role
  • Background in .Net development solutions
  • Experience with advanced RF/mixed-signal and Digital development.
  • Knowledge of energy metering, high power/high voltage power conversion, energy storage, transmission and distribution systems.
  • Proficient with project management related tools including but not limited to Confluence, Jira, Jira Structure, MS Project, Excel, Excel VBA, and PowerBI tools.
