Job DescriptionThe House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the System Support Specialist position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to House of Commons employees.
As the System Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications that enable Human Resources and Financial Services business processes across the House of Commons. You will work directly with users to troubleshoot and resolve application issues, identify root causes, develop practical workarounds and help implement longer-term solutions that improve system reliability and functionality.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary ERP team, you will contribute to system upgrades, enhancements, releases and continuous improvement initiatives by supporting testing, configuration, reporting, data integrity and security administration activities. You will also provide guidance and training to users, help translate evolving business needs into effective system solutions, and contribute to ensuring ERP applications continue to meet operational and client service requirements.

Qualifications
Education:
- University degree with specialization in one or more of the following areas information technology, accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, procurement, asset management, human resource management, OR relevant combination of education, experience and training in a related field.
Experiences:
- Experience providing first-line support to users experiencing difficulties with business applications and their interfaces;
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, prioritizing and resolving application issues, including identifying root causes and developing workarounds or resolution documentation;
- Experience supporting release management activities, including testing, validating and deploying application releases, patches, upgrades or enhancements;
- Experience supporting clients with new or modified application functionality, including upgrades, customizations or reporting requirements;
- Experience analyzing business or reporting needs and translating requirements into system solutions or customized reports;
- Experience communicating technical information and providing guidance to non-technical users;
- Recent experience managing multiple priorities and issues in a fast-paced environment.
Assets:
- Knowledge of the structure, data relationships, functionality, tools and interfaces of a corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, including its integration with other systems;
- Experience using Unit4 ERP and SAP Concur for financial and expense management;
- Experience developing and delivering training related to application changes, upgrades or new functionality.
