The Systems/Platform Liaison serves as the primary connection between program operations and technical teams, ensuring business needs are effectively translated into scalable system solutions. This role partners with internal IT, platform engineering, and product teams to support system configuration, platform performance, client implementations, and technology enhancements. The Systems/Platform Liaison also oversees technical documentation, coordinates system testing, and helps drive continuous improvements that enhance operational efficiency and the client experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the bridge between program operations and internal IT, platform engineering, and product teams

  • Translate business and client needs into clearly documented technical requirements and user stories

  • Manage system configuration, access provisioning, and platform setup for new clients in coordination with IT

  • Monitor platform performance and escalate issues affecting client experience or operational capacity

  • Own the relationship with internal technology stakeholders and serve as the SGO team's systems SME

  • Support the evaluation, selection, and implementation of tools that improve team efficiency at scale

  • Maintain technical documentation including system maps, integration specs, and configuration guides

  • Coordinate testing and UAT for new features, updates, or integrations affecting the federal platform

**Pay Range for this role - $70,000

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–5 years of experience supporting business systems, platform administration, technology implementations, or business analysis in a cross-functional environment.

  • Experience translating business needs into functional requirements, coordinating system configurations, testing, or user acceptance activities.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to support system enhancements, issue resolution, and continuous process improvement.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with CRM platforms, project management tools, or enterprise business systems.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of business systems, software platforms, and system implementation methodologies, with the ability to bridge operational and technical teams.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify system issues, evaluate business needs, and recommend scalable solutions.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical requirements, workflows, and system configurations for diverse audiences.

  • Ability to coordinate system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and change management activities to support successful technology implementations.

  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively with cross-functional teams and technology stakeholders.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving business processes, platforms, and organizational priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain accurate technical documentation in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates Living within 30 miles our Lincon Nebraska office location to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.
