Department OverviewThe Palmetto 800 system is a Motorola build, owned, and operated (BOO) statewide public safety radio system. Currently two zone P25 technology with over 130 P25 sites. The system provides radio service to over 800 public safety and utility agencies with over 60,000 users. The system also includes enhanced P25 features. The Palmetto 800 team is responsible for the day to day operations of the system and ensuring maximum uptime and high level of customer service to our customers.
Job Description
First, as the System Manager for Build, Own, Operate, manage video systems that Motorola built and manage the projects The duties include but not limited to:

Oversee and provide project management during build out and expansion of the system.

Manage the system by running required reports, manage KPI's and SLA's per contract and interface with the customer to ensure total customer satisfaction.

Manage the service providers that respond to failures and bi-annual preventative maintenance.

Perform firmware updates as needed to the video infrastructure.
The second function is to serve as the Palmetto 800 Project Manager for site additions to the system and new technologies that provide opportunities to grow the Palmetto 800 system. The duties include but are not limited to:

Work with Field Engineering on the design phase of the sites

Work with vendors to negotiate pricing and services

Work with service providers and contractors through the build out of the sites

Work with internal teams to optimize and transition the sites over to the Pal8 Operations team.

Work with product groups, vendors, and others as required on new technologies from design to implementation to completion.

Travel locally and throughout the state.

Target Base Salary Range: $72,700 - $145,400 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

High School diploma OR Bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years of experience in one of the following environments: Engineering, Project Management, Public Safety, IT, Avigilon Video systems, Cambium PTP, PTMP, P25 SmartZone, LMR, or Military.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
