Job Description

The Motion Analysis Center Manager/Scientist (MACMS) is a research and clinical innovation leader responsible for advancing motion analysis services, improving patient outcomes, and supporting evidence-based care across Shriners Children's. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Motion Analysis Center, the role collaborates with system-wide research, engineering, and therapy teams to develop research initiatives, quality improvement programs, business plans, and new clinical services. The position supports the organization's patient-centered FOCUSED Program by integrating research, technology, and clinical practice to enhance care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct interdisciplinary research and quality improvement projects related to motion analysis and clinical care.
  • Develop new clinical service lines, technologies, business plans, and research initiatives in collaboration with system engineers and physical therapists.
  • Prepare and submit grant proposals, including multi-site research projects.
  • Manage project budgets and provide grant progress reporting.
  • Design, execute, and interpret biomechanical and motion analysis research studies.
  • Develop software tools and databases for motion data collection, processing, storage, and analysis.
  • Perform and lead statistical analysis and interpretation of research and quality assurance data.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and organizational research policies, including obtaining IRB and organizational approvals for human subject research.
  • Coordinate research efforts with Clinical Research Coordinators and other stakeholders.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Present research at scientific conferences and professional meetings.
  • Deliver educational lectures and training to clinicians, fellows, scientists, and motion analysis staff.
  • Participate in research-related committees and organizational initiatives.
  • Review grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
  • Promote advancements in motion analysis through professional collaboration and scholarship.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD, MS or DPT Physical Therapy, Engineer, Bioengineering or related field Required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years Motion Analysis Lab Experience
  • 4+ years Research Experience
The pay range for this position is $51.79 - $77.68. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.

Skills Required

  • PhD, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy, Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of motion analysis laboratory experience
  • 4+ years of research experience
