Position Summary:
The Systems Integration Engineer/Scientist 1 will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment to help create genomic analysis tools used in the leading edge of scientific and clinical research. This position will participate in the development of high quality, robust products through integration testing of hardware, software, & chemistry components.
Responsibilities:

Perform hands-on testing of end-to-end sequencing application workflows for whole genome, whole transcriptome, etc.

Reliably execute experiments & test plans, collect data, summarize results, & report issues.

Regularly communicate experimental results & observations in group settings.

Contribute to investigations of technical issues & independently work on problems of defined scope.

Follow standard procedures & protocols to support verification and validation activities.

Operate systems with a customer point of view to assess usability, safety, data quality & efficiency of workflows. Contributes to content of user guides.

With increasing proficiency, able to instruct others in system operation & data analysis.

Tracks & maintains lab supplies & consumable inventory for projects.
Requirements:

A basic understanding of sequencing systems & at least one application.
-
Ability to describe the steps & components required to execute a complete end-to-end workflow, including sample library preparation, sequencing, & analysis.

Basic molecular biology wet laboratory experience, i.e. pipetting, & working with DNA and RNA. Direct experience with qPCR or library preparation a plus.

Interest in data analysis & statistics. Programming experience is strongly desired (Python, Perl, LabView, etc.).

A desire to be a part of a fast paced, multidisciplinary & dynamic environment.

Solid communication & writing skills.
Experience/Education:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent work experience.

The estimated base salary range for the System Integration Engineer/Scientist 1 role based in the United States of America is: $61,700 - $92,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
