Job Description:

The Systems / Process Engineer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake custom industrial refrigeration and gas compression system equipment design - performing calculations, making component selections, and building documentation for our customers according to requirements of their project. The engineer supports the delivery of project related engineering results and is responsible for the work they're assigned.


Success in this position requires the candidate to work efficiently in both a collaborative and independent environment, be safety conscious, have good interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers, pay high attention to details, and have a strong motivation for delivering objectives.


As A Systems Engineer, You Will:

·  Actively participate in quote preparation for customers from technical standpoints and select / verify the component selections which may include, but not limited to, various heat exchangers, scrubbers / knock out vessels following the process parameters defined by customer. Optimized solutions to be offered to customers for effective results.

·  Review compression system design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications. Consult with the Project Engineer and Sales to settle degree of compliance with customer specifications and design requirements.

·  Review and interpret codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc.) for system compliance.

·  Make system component selections while generating a project Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID). Confer with Mechanical Design Engineers on standard products included in the project.

·  Conduct all necessary calculations, design reviews with production, and develop all custom documentation required for project execution.

·  Review and approve production drawings for custom systems, adding recommendations to improve design, reduce costs, or increase production efficiency. Chip in as a technical resource to the shop, customers, sales, and other departments to address and resolve questions and problems.

·  Prepare specifications for custom equipment and work with procurement to obtain quotations.

·  Participate in multi-functional teams to address new design issues and resolve problems to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.


Required Education, Experience and Skills:

·  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience with Gas processing rotary equipment.

·  Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing and other presentation formats. Working experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.

·  Must be an outstanding teammate, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes. Ability to travel to customer, site or supplier location, approximately 10-20%.


Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

·  Previous experience with Compression systems or other pressure piping systems. Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).

·  Experience with handling Gas processing as well as heat transfer equipment as part of integrated unit / package

·  Understanding of the manufacturing BOM, work breakdown structure (WBS) and ERP.

·  Previous experience in dealing with suppliers starting from identifying a suitable local source till technical finalization to suit the project requirements.

·  Ability to coordinate teams with varied strengths to implement changes and improvements.
