  • Working with IT Management to establish priorities and best-practices
  • Trouble shoot and resolve technical issues that should arise
  • Develop and present IT patterns and strategies to IT leadership based on anticipating business driven needs and historical performance and configuration information.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
  • Review system and application logs for performance tuning opportunities and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Perform system implementations, patches, upgrades, and configuration changes in accordance with best-practices as needed
  • Participate in the review, writing, and understanding of IT standards and security policies

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Experience with automation and scripting best practices on Linux and Windows
  • Demonstrated technical expertise with data center operations, cloud providers, network switching, application load balancing, and firewall management
  • Strong understanding of high-availability techniques and application load balancing for IBM Websphere and related web-based applications
  • Experience with non-disruptive network, storage, and server migrations to optimize IT infrastructure and application performance
  • Experience with disaster recovery configurations and high-availability within cloud providers to achieve resiliency and site failovers

Background Requirements (Level 2)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in including experience in hypervisors, redundant and high-availability solutions and on-site to cloud migrations
  • Experience with SDN and VLAN setup, troubleshooting and trunking
  • Experience as with software defined storage and converged infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of hypervisors, specifically Hyper-V and Containers
  • MCSE, CCNA, and/or vmWare Certified Professional experience encouraged
  • Windows Azure configuration experience, particularly with private networks
  • Ability to develop scripts in Azure automation and powershell
  • Active Directory user and group administration and Azure AD Health Check
