System Engineer 3
Athenix Cyber & SIGINT is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to work in the in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The Systems Engineer 3 develops, maintains and enhances complex and diverse software systems.
Position Summary:
Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables
Minimum Requirements:
- Six (6) years of experience as a System Engineer (SE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. (OR) Six (6) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree for a total of twelve (12) years of experience.

- *(U) Note 1 – Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph
Desired experience:
- Successful candidate will evaluate new hardware from multiple vendors and work with the software team to integrate hardware, and troubleshoot problems with receiver/digitizer hardware.
- Systems Engineer Level 3 with experience interfacing wideband digitizing receivers and software defined radio systems to processing software running on standard general-purpose hardware. Familiarity with the following are highly desirable: VITA-49, low-level drivers software, RHEL, multi-Gigabit Ethernet over copper and fiber optics, RF sources, amplifiers, filters, dividers, etc.
