What you'll be doing:
• Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.• Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
• Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
• Provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provision/harden Linux operating systems.
• Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files. Working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies and ability to work with and run STIGs via a viewer or other automated tools.
Need to Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement
- Significant experience administering Linux or other UNIX-based systems.
- Experience working with Alpine or other container-based operating environments.
- Skilled in working with DevOps or DevSecOps teams to deploy and troubleshoot systems
- Experience creating and maintaining shell scripts, including Python and Bash
- Managing SSH access and security policies across a hybrid environment.
- TS/SCI with current CI poly
- Current IAT II Certification
