Key Responsibilities
➤ Provide Level-1 support for Linux desktop systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
➤ Troubleshoot and resolve OS-level, application, network, internet, hardware, and peripheral issues.
➤ Perform OS upgrades, security patching, kernel updates, and software installations.
➤ Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, and access controls.
➤ Support employee onboarding, system configuration, and access provisioning.
➤ Diagnose hardware issues and coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements.
➤ Monitor system performance, logs, and health to ensure minimal downtime.
➤ Assist in IT projects, system migrations, and infrastructure rollouts.
➤ Collaborate with network, security, and other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
➤ Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting or Ansible.
➤ Install, configure, and maintain open-source tools and utilities.
➤ Maintain documentation, SOPs, asset records, and system configurations.
➤ Ensure adherence to security best practices and organizational IT policies.
Requirements
➤ 2–4 years of experience in Linux Administration or Linux Desktop Support.
➤ Strong hands-on experience with Linux OS troubleshooting (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
➤ Good knowledge of Linux file systems, permissions, processes, and services.
➤ Proficiency with common Linux commands and shell operations.
➤ Experience with OS patching, package management, and software installations.
➤ Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
➤ Exposure to Ansible or similar automation/configuration management tools.
➤ Experience installing and supporting open-source software.
➤ Ability to handle multiple user issues in a fast-paced environment.
➤ Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
➤ Eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and best practices.
Preferred / Nice to Have
➤ Experience supporting large-scale user environments with 300+ endpoints.
➤ Familiarity with IT asset management systems and ticketing tools.
➤ Basic exposure to server administration, virtualization is an added advantage.
➤ Prior experience working in corporate IT or product-based organizations.
