Catchpoint is seeking a professional and highly motivated problem solver to join our Corporate IT Team. A system administrator is a professional who manages, maintains, and troubleshoots the network and computer systems of a corporate IT team. The system administrator ensures that the IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and efficient.
What will success look like in this position?
System administration is a vital role in the corporate IT team, as it ensures the smooth operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and services. System incidents and requests are resolved within the agreed timeframes and quality standards. New technologies and solutions are identified and implemented to improve system performance, security, and efficiency. This profile optimizes and enhances the IT systems and services to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and update hardware and software components of the IT network and systems
- Monitor and optimize the performance and security of the IT network and systems
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff
- Backup and restore data and system configurations
- Document and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards
- Research and evaluate new technologies and solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
- At least three years of experience as a system administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems and servers
- Proficient in networking protocols, tools, and devices
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are preferred
