Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Profound is on a mission to help companies understand and control their AI presence. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will build and scale the systems that power our rapid growth. You will ensure our infrastructure is highly available, cost-effective, and able to handle explosive traffic and compute demands. You will work closely with engineers across product, research, and operations to design scalable architectures, streamline deployments, and improve observability.

• Design and maintain core infrastructure across cloud environments

• Build infrastructure-as-code workflows to automate deployments and scaling

• Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to maintain reliability

• Manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployments

• Support disaster recovery planning and ensure high availability of systems

• Partner with product and research teams to design architectures that scale with workload demands

• Identify and fix performance bottlenecks in compute, storage, and networking

• Implement security best practices and compliance frameworks across infrastructure

• Strong experience with cloud platforms, with AWS preferred

• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform

• Deep experience with containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes

• Solid understanding of distributed architectures

• Programming proficiency in Python and Rust, or willingness to learn Rust quickly

• Proven ability to ship reliable infrastructure in production environments

• Growth mindset and eagerness to thrive in a hyper-growth, high-ownership environment

• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems

• Database scaling and optimization experience

• Observability and monitoring expertise

• Network architecture and performance tuning experience

• Security and compliance experience

This is an on-site role based in our NYC or SF office, designed for builders who thrive on speed, iteration, and meaningful impact. We are happy to support visa sponsorship for qualified international candidates.

For this role, the expected base salary range is $140,000 to $260,000 (NY). Comp may vary by location. Profound’s total compensation package is designed to be competitive and includes base salary, equity, and a full range of benefits and perks.
