About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer in the Connectivity team and you will have the opportunity to develop innovative software for the automotive industry. Telematics products exposes the internal car ecosystem to the Internet: the car becomes an element of the Internet of Things (IoT), offering a new level of access to car’s functionalities and a platform to build additional features in areas such as safety, security, comfort. You will work with concepts like Telematics, 5G and V2X (vehicle-to-everything).
You will interact with JOEM customers and representing SW development team for successful program execution.
What You Will Do
- As a member of “Alliance Excellence Team”, be a knowledge center of commonly used core software to utilize the experience between OEMs/Projects.
- Collaborate with global team to analyze-, debug- software implementation with customer or Tier-2 and confirm fix by patching SW / fix bug on spot
- Summarize-, Explain- the found issues to global team and customer with fix proposal.
- Support to create software requirements proposal.
- Track progress of all relevant activities regularly such as workshop, joint test.
- Adjust/synchronize planning with overall project schedule/milestones and communicate deviations.
- Support to prepare development environment in Japan including customer engineering site.
- Understand the internal and external requirements to capture clearly and concisely what is required of the product.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.
- At least 3+ years of experience as a software developer with C/C++ knowledge
- At least 3+ years of experience working with global team.
- Experience in developing embedded applications.
- Knowledge in inter-process communication, threading, socket communication.
- Fluent in Japanese and Business level English.
- Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.
- Debug knowledge using gdb.

- Understanding of TCP/IP protocol internals.
- Automotive experience.
- Unified Modeling Language Knowledge.
- Problem Solving Method.
- Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®, SCRUM, SAFe Agile).
