Job Title: C++ Software Engineer

Atlanta, GA or Dallas, TX

Position Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a C++ Software Engineer, where you'll lead the charge in the design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions for NCR Voyix's Fuel Controller product. In this highly concurrent embedded system, you'll play a pivotal role in orchestrating the functionalities of outdoor automated fuel dispensers. You'll collaborate closely with a team dedicated to delivering top-notch, timely solutions while independently managing complex software challenges from conception through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborative Development: Engage with both onshore and offshore developers and Quality Engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the software.
• Business Requirement Analysis: Identify and evaluate business needs to engineer efficient software solutions.
• Design & Development: Architect, modify, implement, and document software applications to meet specified requirements.
• Agile Contribution: Play an active part in a self-organized Agile team comprising 5-10 members, contributing to projects and initiatives.
• Testing & Support: Conduct rigorous testing and provide ongoing support for software applications to ensure reliability and performance.
• Process Participation: Engage in comprehensive processes of analysis, design, testing, and review to enhance software quality.
• Time Estimation: Offer accurate work estimations based on detailed requirements to aid in project planning.
• Documentation: Develop detailed product specifications, troubleshooting guides, and user technical manuals to support end-users and stakeholders.
• Evaluation: Assess third-party products and their specifications to determine integration feasibility.
• Other Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to meet departmental goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Services) or equivalent industry experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in C++ development.
• Proficiency in modern C++ standards (C++11 and above).
• Competency in real-time debugging across Linux and Microsoft Windows environments.
• Demonstrated experience in gathering requirements and developing technical designs for software applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in troubleshooting complex systems, including both hardware and software components.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced experience with modern C++ libraries (C++11 and above).
• Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Node.js, React, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience in test automation using frameworks like Cucumber, Behave, and Gherkin.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as Google Test and cppUnit.
• Experience with virtual environments like Vagrant and VirtualBox.
• Expertise in multi-threading, performance optimization, networking, and TCP/IP socket communications.
• Background in the retail industry, particularly in convenience store operations and Point of Sale systems.
• Experience in working with payment processor software and payment devices.
