Visa's Cybersecurity team provides enterprise-wide, risk-based cybersecurity policies, practices, and solutions to protect Visa’s systems and data from internal and external threats. To protect Visa’s assets in this dynamic threat landscape, they are deploying new cyber-security tools, collaborating across industries, and taking a proactive approach to monitoring the cyberspace beyond the Visa network.
As part of Cyber Threat Analytics and Research team (CTAR) , you will leverage cutting-edge technologies to perform statistical profiling, inference, classification, clustering and predictive analysis. As a key member of the technical team, you will create and implement sophisticated machine learning models to help derive new insights to defend against cyber-attacks. You will be working with a large variety of data sets, cutting-edge security technologies, and world-class operation teams to create awesome analytics for security
Visa's CTAR team is looking for a Software Engineer who will be responsible for design, development, and implementation of critical Cyber Security platforms. Extensive web service development skills are a must. In this position, you are a passionate and talented developer with problem-solving abilities and coding/testing/debugging skills who can work in a dynamic environment. You must be dedicated to delivering production-ready code in short timeframes and willing to go beyond the routine.
Essential Functions:
As a member of the CTAR team, you will work closely with other engineers, analysts, and scientists to design and develop software and services that deliver security functionalities and improve Visa Cybersecurity team's defense and response capabilities.
Develop innovative solutions to protect the Visa brand, networks, assets and products by implementing state-the-art detection, prevention, and response capabilities
Engage in technical design of solutions and features based on use cases and business requirements
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization
Demonstrate technical mastery and be an inspirational leader and mentor who continuously develops the competencies of him/herself and others
Reduce time-to-detect and time-to-remediate by driving the automation of applied threat intelligence.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualification:
•Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent experience
•Strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, OOD, design patterns
•Experience with back-end development in Java and Python
•Experience with web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, Spring, XML, JSON, REST)
•Expertise in Angular, HTML5, JavaScript and CSS, and other web technologies.
•Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
•Proven problem solving skills and an ability to respond resourcefully to new demands, priorities and challenges
•Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively
•Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new initiatives
•Experience with APIs and machine-to-machine communication
•Proficient on both Windows and Linux platforms
Other Qualifications (Nice to have):
•Experience with development of application/platforms supporting Security requirements
•Experience with high volume/velocity/variety (‘Big Data’) data sets and tools
•Experience with Continuous Integration and containerization technologies (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes)
•Experience with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana)
