Additional Information
- Experience with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build processes, testing, and code release.
- Experience with Agile and Test-driven development methodologies.
- Experience with Core Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, Hibernate/JPA, JDBC, Tomcat, and Oracle.
- Strong foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for building highly distributed and parallelized systems.
- Understanding of networking concepts, security, and cryptography.
- Knowledge of building automated testing and performance testing is a plus.

- Strong design and coding skills, with a passion for learning new software technologies.
- Effective communication skills to convey ideas clearly across all levels.
- Passion for exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional code.
This role works closely with various teams to build and grow Visa's API catalogue, ensuring optimal performance, lean code, and maintainability. The candidate should have a strong background in Java and experience with various development methodologies, tools, and processes.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of experience in software development.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in Full Stack Software Development for large-scale, mission-critical applications.
- Mandatory experience with n-tier web application development and Java/J2EE.
- Knowledge of the Spring framework and experience with Spring Batch is a plus.
- Expertise with RDBMS systems such as SQL Server or Oracle.
- Strong data analytical skills to understand data and build excellent products.
- Proficient in Web Services/API Development using REST and JSON.
- Proficient with GIT/Stash, Maven, Jenkins, etc..
- Familiarity with GenAI tools for development (e.g., CoPilot, ChatGPT).
- Experience with UI / Web development using Angular / React, JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML / CSS technologies.
- Committed to delivering zero-defect code that meets or exceeds defect SLA, with a high sense of accountability for quality and timeliness.
