The Senior Vice President (SVP), Public Sector is a key executive leader responsible for driving the strategic growth, operational excellence, and market leadership of our Public Sector business. This role oversees the full spectrum of Federal (Fed), State, Local, and Education (SLED) markets, providing vision, leadership, and accountability for revenue, profitability, and organizational development. The SVP will lead a high-performing sales organization—including direct oversight of DLT—and maintain influence over more than $13B in Public Sector revenue spanning TDS Public Sector, commercial accounts, and Global System Integrators (GSI).

This executive will play a critical role in shaping long-term strategy, elevating our brand presence, and accelerating expansion across all Public Sector segments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term strategy for the Public Sector business across Fed and SLED segments, including customer acquisition, market segmentation, annual planning, budgeting, and full P&L accountability.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to all Public Sector sales teams—including DLT—ensuring alignment with organizational goals and growth priorities.
  • Participate and influence the buildout of accretive vertical markets.

Revenue & Growth Targets

  • Drive organizational performance, transformation, and operational rigor needed to meet or exceed Public Sector revenue and growth targets.
  • Maintain oversight, visibility, and strategic influence over more than $13B in total TDS Public Sector revenue, inclusive of commercial account intersections and Global System Integrators.

Organizational Development

  • Build, develop, and scale high-performing sales teams while fostering leadership capability, career progression, and robust succession planning.
  • Act as an overlay to the VM team for Federal and SLED support, ensuring collaboration and optimized customer engagement.

Branding & Market Presence

  • Advance Public Sector branding, imaging, and thought leadership initiatives to reinforce market prominence and competitive differentiation.
  • Serve as an executive ambassador with customers, partners, industry associations, and key stakeholders.

Business Planning & Market Expansion

  • Lead comprehensive Public Sector business planning, including long-range strategy, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
  • Oversee strategic expansion efforts with a strong emphasis on deepening engagement with Federal System Integrators and emerging growth markets.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record leading large-scale Public Sector sales organizations with multi-billion-dollar revenue responsibility.
  • Deep expertise in Federal and SLED markets, including regulatory frameworks, procurement processes, and market dynamics.
  • Strong financial acumen with direct experience managing P&L, AFC, and large-scale operational budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills with the ability to drive alignment across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate shared outcomes.
  • 15+ years of relevant Public Sector or technology industry experience.
  • 10–15 years of experience directly leading teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%).
