Summary:
The Senior Vice President of Lab Operations will oversee the strategic and operational leadership of all laboratory functions, ensuring the efficient, automated, and effective delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. This role includes managing the technical lab operations from Wet Lab, Dry Lab, to Clinical Reporting, aligning each area with the company’s strategic goals. The SVP is responsible for fostering a culture of operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, with a focus on clinical workflows, process innovation, automation, and technology integration. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the SVP will drive productivity, support organizational growth, and ensure adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required; PhD or MD highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years in laboratory operations or clinical diagnostics, with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven ability to create and execute strategic plans that drive laboratory efficiency and support organizational growth.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale lab operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Inspirational leader skilled in building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Effective in collaborating with cross-functional leaders to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.
  • Strong decision-making abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges in lab operations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, strategic vision, financial acumen, and proficiency in change management.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and scalability in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily lab operations, ensuring that workflows are optimized for accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality & Compliance: Establish and uphold quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP), ensuring consistent, reliable lab services.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing lab operations team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Innovation, Research & Development, and Technology departments to support new projects and integrate advanced technologies into lab operations.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budget and resource allocation for lab operations, optimizing financial performance while meeting operational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives focused on process improvements and operational excellence, leveraging methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks within lab operations and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
