Summary:

The Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) is an executive member of the organization’s leadership team, has shared accountability for organizational success and is charged with building and protecting the brand and reputation of Cook Children’s Health Care System (“CCHCS”) through storytelling, controlling the content and flow of information, crisis management and developing integrated, consistent public relations strategies so as to shape the intangible elements (e.g., customer experience, emotions) that foster long-term trust, financial support, and competitive advantage.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the SVP reaches broad and diverse audiences via enhanced storytelling about Cook Children’s clinical capabilities, service excellence and care continuum.  The SVP is a subject matter expert, thought leader and strategic partner who advises Senior Leadership including the Chief Executive Officer and regularly collaborates with the System and hospital leaders, physician leadership and cross-functional teams to produce outcomes that contribute to increased patient volumes, positive results and financial support.
The SVP guides and oversees a team of executives responsible for developing and implementing the goals and objectives, strategic initiatives, projects, policies & procedures, and technologies needed to ensure efficient and effective cross-collaborative operations that drive and maximize return on investment.
The SVP has wide authority and relies on experience and judgement to accomplish goals and effectively lead teams.


Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in brand management with a focus on marketing, public relations, and communications—both internal and external to the organization
  • Demonstrated experience developing long-term marketing strategies, overseeing brand identity, and managing marketing budgets and projects in a major healthcare organization or similar setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and progressive experience leading and developing performance teams

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field
