The Role
SVP, Alternatives Institutional Portfolio Manager
The SVP Alternatives IPM will work closely with Fidelity’s private equity multi-strategy fund and direct real estate investment teams to support the growth of the products to institutional and intermediary customers. This role will suit candidates with entrepreneurial energy and accountability who are excited to build a business with the support and backing of a leading financial services company. In addition, this professional must have the willingness and desire to manage the workload of a start-up coupled with an agile mindset to move between a smaller team environment to the wider established financial services company.
The Team
Located in Boston, MA, the Alternative Product Development Team ('Alternatives') is part of Fidelity’s Enterprise Services Division that manages the firm’s growth initiatives sponsoring new business creation and innovation. The Alternatives team works closely with Fidelity’s Asset Management Division as well Fidelity’s proprietary alternative investment companies within the Devonshire Investments to bring alternative real estate and PE multi-strategy investments to market.
The Purpose of Your Role and the Value You Deliver
The Institutional PM will be one of the senior advocates of Fidelity’s private equity multi-strat and direct real estate products, representing them to existing and prospective institutional and intermediary clients and gatekeepers, internal distribution, operations, marketing and asset management business partners. The Institutional PM will be vital to supporting the growth of Fidelity’s private markets offering.
Primary Responsibilities
Contribute to the go-to-market sales strategy for the private equity multi-strategy and direct real estate products which will include working with various sales organizations internally to define target market segments and specific prospects, and creating pricing structures and key terms.
Work with various sales and portfolio teams on complete alternative selling process from sourcing and meeting with prospective investors, educating internal sales teams, working through prospect’s due diligence process to client reporting.
Meet with existing clients to provide portfolio and performance updates.
Work with marketing on creating the client facing collateral.
Provide client and consultant feedback to senior leaders.
Identify thought leadership and other events to drive awareness of Fidelity’s capabilities.
Partner with marketing to develop white papers, case studies, trickle marketing campaigns, and press releases.
Collaborate on new products and be creative in bringing value to our clients.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
Series 7, Series 24, Series 63
Experience in the private markets industry, specifically real estate, infrastructure or private equity
15+ years’ experience working within alternatives in product development, relationship management and sales
Ability to explain complex products and structures for various levels of staff and clients
Excellent writing skills and experience in creating product promotion materials, articles and in public speaking
Deep understanding of private market regulations.
