Moog Avionics is hiring a Sustainment Manager to sit in their Mineral Wells, Texas location.

This role is responsible for sustainment strategy and sustainment business development including pricing, negotiations and contracts. The Sustainment Manager is responsible for leading all post-delivery product support activities to ensure long-term system readiness, reliability, and affordability across the product/program lifecycle. The Sustainment Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, program management, and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

As Sustainment Manager, you will:

  • Be responsible for sustainment strategy, business development, planning and executing the sustainment book of business and long-term sustainment growth for Moog Avionics in both commercial and defense markets.

  • Drive revenue/profit Contribution in support of Moog Avionics financial expectations.

  • Responsible for pricing and contract negotiations for recurring and new business pursuits on the sustainment side.

  • Responsible for establishing the business case and risk/opportunity assessment for all related decisions.

  • Ensure alignment with program requirements, customer expectations, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for sustainment-related inquiries from customers, operators, and government agencies.

  • Monitor multiple military and industry customer budgets and procurement forecasts and effectively translate and communicate the future demand in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Drive continuous product improvement based on field data, reliability analysis, and customer feedback.

Here’s what you will typically need to bring with you:

Required:

  • BS/BA degree in the field of Aerospace Engineering, Business, or similar discipline.

  • Plus a minimum of 7 years of aerospace sustainment and after-market experience.

  • Experience negotiating contracts of $1M and greater.

  • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and lifecycle sustainment principles.

  • Experience working with complex aerospace systems (Avionics, mission systems).

  • Proficiency in data analysis, reliability metrics, and performance dashboards.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Proven capabilities in budget/forecast planning   

  • Travel up to 20%

Preferred:

  • Additional certifications in defense procurement or similar training.

  • Defense acquisition, procurement and/or contracts experience.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, maintenance management tools, and digital sustainment technologies.

Salary Range Transparency:

Mineral Wells, TX $150,000.00–$180,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Business, or a similar discipline
  • At least 10 years of aerospace sustainment and aftermarket experience
  • Experience negotiating contracts valued at $1 million or greater
  • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and lifecycle sustainment principles
  • Experience working with complex aerospace systems, including avionics or mission systems
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reliability metrics, and performance dashboards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proven budget and forecast planning capabilities
  • Additional certifications in defense procurement or similar training
  • Defense acquisition, procurement, or contracts experience
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, maintenance management tools, and digital sustainment technologies
