We are looking for our new Sustainability Manager M/F/X.You will serve as a primary liaison and key contributor to McCain's overall Scope 3 and responsible sourcing goals. You will lead supplier engagement and delivery of emission pathway reductions for assigned categories such as Dairy, Proteins, Oils, Batters, Packaging, etc. In addition to this you will support the lead in the implementation of McCain's Responsible Sourcing strategy - both developing the strategy internally and rolling it out with suppliers. Executing and delivering these emission reduction and sustainability projects will require close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with Resource Efficient Operations Dairy, Agriculture & Oilseed sustainability leads, global sustainability teams and procurement direct materials category managers. This is a unique opportunity to pioneer a new area and make a significant impact on McCain globally.
This is a CE role, and your main office will be in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, France. Occasional travel to our different sites globally (both within Europe and North America) are required. You will report to the Director of Global Sustainability Procurement.
Key responsibilities :

  • You deliver scope 3 emissions reductions and execute McCain's Responsible Sourcing Strategy.
  • You develop, implement, and communicate supplier engagement strategies to internal and external stake holders focused on scope 3 reduction and responsible sourcing.
  • You identify, evaluate, and prioritize opportunities roadmap for scope 3 interventions, considering both environmental and business feasibility through comprehensive business case assessments.
  • You lead negotiations efforts with suppliers to ensure successful adoption and deployment of agreed interventions, emissions reductions targets and endure associated incentives are approved.
  • You lead projects for agreed pathways, including planning, monitoring, pipeline build and stakeholder communication.
  • You identify, communicate, and deploy continuous scope 3 reduction opportunities pipeline within supply base, including identifying innovation opportunities.
  • You support emissions progression performance externally to key customers and annual sustainability report.


Qualifications:

  • You have over seven years of experience in corporate sustainability (GHG accounting, supplier engagement, responsible sourcing).
  • You have a proven track record with engaging suppliers on Environmental, Social and Governmental (ESG) topics, with an understanding of FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) sector decarbonization pathways and best-practices.
  • You have knowledge of the European Union's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU CSRD).
  • You have strong collaborative skills, and the ability to develop professional relationships and influence others internally and externally.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to execute projects within a complex matric organization, both cross-functional and cross-geographical.
  • You are self-motivated, analytical and an independent thinker that is comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Thanks to your creative and flexible mindset, you can evaluate opportunities and respond to changing requirements.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You are fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
