We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Sustainability Specialist to join our team with a focus on sustainability and achieving net-zero targets with our global suppliers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving and optimizing our raw procurement supply chain activities towards an ambitious net-zero goal, while staying up to date on and providing suppliers with the relevant guidance and consulting on guidelines and methodology (GHG/SBTI).
Job DescriptionReducing Supplier Carbon Footprint
In this role, you’ll play a key part in reducing the carbon footprint of our raw material supply chain on the path toward net zero. You will assess suppliers’ sustainability practices and carbon emissions, collect, compare and evaluate supplier Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs), and drive greater transparency in PCF reporting. This includes ensuring standardized, third-party certified PCF calculations in line with ISO, GHG Protocol, TfS and IPCC standards. By closely working with suppliers, you’ll help define and implement effective reduction initiatives that improve sustainability performance across our supply base.
Developing Sustainability Assessment Tools
You’ll develop and implement sustainability assessment tools and frameworks to evaluate supplier performance and track progress against defined carbon reduction initiatives. In addition, you’ll create standardized guidance for suppliers on CO₂ performance expectations and reduction requirements, enabling a consistent and measurable approach to sustainability across the supply chain.
Driving Sustainable Supplier Management
Working closely with Category Managers and cross-functional teams, you’ll integrate sustainability and net-zero objectives into procurement practices to support net-zero raw material sourcing. You’ll also ensure sustainability is embedded in supplier selection processes, helping prioritize partners aligned with our environmental ambitions. Furthermore, you’ll contribute to defining sustainability-related contract terms to ensure suppliers meet our carbon reduction and sustainability targets.
Monitoring Impact and Market Developments
You’ll plan, monitor and report on the effectiveness and cost impact of our sustainability procurement strategy, ensuring reduction initiatives deliver measurable results. At the same time, you’ll stay ahead of the curve by continuously monitoring industry standards, emerging sustainability trends, and upcoming regulatory requirements, benchmarking our approach and helping shape future procurement practices.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
7–10 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Management or a comparable area
Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions
Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving
Fluent in English; German is considered an advantage
Proactive team player with a self-driven, goal-oriented mindset and the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Additional InformationDue to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is € 2392 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
