·  Key Responsibilities -

  • Support the annual sustainability reporting cycle, including preparation, validation, analysis, and review of key datasets.
  • Analyse and interpret data, and present in a clear and easy to understand format to inform business decisions and regulatory submissions.
  • Support the development and refinement of methodologies for new sustainability metrics required under the UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management practices, including the automation of sustainability data processes, and enhancing controls around sustainability data.
  • Support the adoption of AI capabilities for identified use-cases across reporting processes.
  • Act as the technical liaison with the external assurance provider’s data analytics team to facilitate efficient audit processes.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to design and maintain data architecture, including reference data management and data lineage for sustainability metrics.
  • Support effective oversight of data governance for sustainability reporting, ensuring adherence to data policies, standards, and risk management practices.
  • Document and maintain data processes, ensuring transparency and auditability for sustainability and finance data.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong data modelling and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, data governance, or financial data management. Competence with tackling large datasets through the use of tools such as SQL, Python, or Power BI is desirable.
  • Experience with ESG data, sustainability reporting frameworks, or broader regulatory compliance in a data-driven environment.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, and communicate insights through clear visualisations, metric disaggregation, dashboards, or data narratives to stakeholders at all levels.
  • High attention to detail, with the integrity and confidence to challenge data quality and methodological assumptions, and discretion in handling sensitive data.
  • Effective collaborator, able to work across functions and influence others.
  • Experience with business process mapping, requirements gathering, and documentation.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Years of experience 6-9 years

  • Experience in a data analyst or similar role, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment.
  • Hands-on experience with sustainability reporting frameworks or ESG data management is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to process improvement and change management in data-centric projects, including experience working with or a keen interest in the use of AI.
  • Experience supporting or leading data governance initiatives.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory standards, including associated guidance and best practice.

Qualifications:

  • An accounting qualification/ CFA qualification or MBA would be beneficial experience here,
  • Any ESG-specific or Sustainability related  certified candidates
  • Engineering or computer science background (e.g. bachelors or masters). With ESG/ Sustainability certifications can be considered
  • Beyond this, the key for this role is experience working with sustainability data (preferably in a financial services company), and a good working knowledge of AI / experience in automating processes.
