Surveillance Trainee - FT

Position Summary:

Provide and maintain a covert and proactive surveillance operation that protects the company's gaming licenses and assets.  Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:

1.    Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Thunder Valley Casino’s “Winning Attitude” Company-wide culture and demonstrating Thunder Valley Casino’s 5-Star Service Standards at all times.
2.    Through on-the-job training, learn how to operate all CCTV equipment, including but not limited to keyboards and VCRs, and all related equipment needed to perform the job.
3.    Become familiar with the operation of all casino departments and areas.
4.    Acquire knowledge of all live games, including but not limited to the rules, cheating techniques, and game protection.
5.    Become familiar with all surveillance forms.
6.    At the completion of the training period, be able to perform all duties of a Surveillance Agent.
7.    Have knowledge of all casino games, including but not limited to Blackjack, Dice, Roulette, Baccarat, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Slots, Poker, Keno, and Bingo.
8.    Conduct routine random surveillance and “special observations” as approved by surveillance management.
9.    Conduct surveillance reviews or “audits” to confirm transactions or events.
10.    Must be reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
11.    Be completely familiar with gaming regulations, the company’s Internal Control System, the departmental policies and procedures, and have working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws.  Ability to monitor other departments policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.    Ability to communicate effectively with guests, Team Members and management in both written and verbal form.
2.    Must be at least 21 years of age.
3.    Must be able to obtain Gaming Work Card for the jurisdiction in which the property is located.
4.    Have a professional and investigative attitude.
5.    Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the operations, controls, and procedures involved in surveillance activities.
6.    Introductory surveillance course at an accredited institution preferred.
7.    Be able to react quickly and accurately under demanding, high stress conditions.

Physical Requirements:

1.    Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2.    Ability to work in confined areas.
3.    Ability to lift up to 30 lbs with or without assistance.
4.    Ability to work in a high energy, high-pressure environment.
5.    Ability to hear.
6.    Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for the duration of shift.
