Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer.  The incumbent is also responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of surveillance equipment, with infrequent assistance; possesses extensive knowledge of both mechanical and electronic aspects of surveillance equipment repair; provides training or assistance to lesser experienced technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Delivers superior internal and external guest service the Boyd Gaming Way and works harmoniously with fellow team members.

  1. Diagnoses and repairs mechanical and electronic surveillance equipment malfunctions with minimal guidance or assistance.
  2. Replaces/repairs parts and circuit boards which have caused malfunctions.
  3. May occasionally act as a specialist in either mechanical or electronic areas.
  4. Maintains skill levels in mechanical and electronic functions.
  5. Inspects and performs general and preventive maintenance of surveillance equipment and installation.

Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

  • Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Must be able to carry, bend, climb, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 125 pounds so as to be able to reach all areas of machines in need of repair and move machines around work area as needed.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed

These skills are typically acquired through the completion of an A.A. degree in Electronics and one year surveillance equipment experience, or through a minimum of two years’ progressive surveillance equipment experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

Ability to maintain all Regulatory licenses within assigned state of employment

Must successfully pass background check

Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

Knowledge of:

  • General understanding of electronics.
  • General understanding of mechanical and electronic processes.
  • Ability to use all machine test equipment
  • Equipment and machines used, but not limited to, are the complete range of equipment necessary to operate, maintain, and repair all types of surveillance equipment used on property

Ability to:

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all times with customers as well as all levels of employees.
  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates/trainees
  • Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
