The surveillance Monitor will be responsible for providing oversight of surveillance review and documenting daily reporting. This individual is expected to monitor live video surveillance, report any issues or concerns, and maintain the surveillance system. The surveillance Monitor provides support during staff or client investigations and may provide ORR stakeholders with access to review footage, following Program Director's approval. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Provide a system of accountability and continuous supervision of the site population by monitoring all cameras on site, at the program.
  • Report any outages in the surveillance videos to the direct supervisor, Program Director, and/or Assistant Program Director Network Administrator.
  • Reports anything suspicious, anything that violates policies and procedures that may cause harm to someone else, and ensures the safety of all Unaccompanied Children (UC) and staff.
  • Provide the Program Director with review/storage of footage should the program receive a special request from ORR FFS and PO. 
  • Maintains surveillance systems and ensures they are always recorded.
  • Completes daily logs to document surveillance system monitoring. 
  • Ensures correct dates and times are recorded on the surveillance systems.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Sunny Glen, ORR standards, and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Follows Sunny Glen’s Federal Program’s safety policy.
  • Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Communicates frequently with shift supervisor.
  • Complete all required reports using the necessary forms and/or database to ensure compliance with ORR standards, and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; document all incidents including notifying supervisor.
  • Work with the team to maintain a safe and secure environment for UC.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience  

Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent. 

At least 1 years’ experience with children in child welfare, medical, or social service settings is required.


Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid Texas Driver's License  

Have a record of tuberculosis screening showing the employee is free of contagious TB.
