The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to join our team on the West Coast as Surfacing Department Manager. In this role you will effectively manage the safety, quality, and efficiency of the West Coast surfacing department. With the right attitude and a willingness to learn, this role can provide optimal opportunity for growth and professional development. In addition to the above you will:
- Oversee daily operational activities of a reseal crew, 1st coat crew and sweeper truck with support of our supervisor.
- Manage Financial performance and reporting
- Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
- Consistently meet business objectives for growth and performance
- Effectively manage client relationships to ensure continued success.
- Support the wider branch on various matters e.g. storm event management etc.
- Ensure the Health and safety of our people.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience managing business units
- Knowledge of infrastructure, construction and civil engineering industries
- Technical knowledge of chip sealing and bitumen is preferred
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and procedures
- A focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and meet programme objectives
- Positive leadership style
- Ability to engage with staff and maintain a positive workplace culture
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Problem solving abilities
