Plans, coordinates, and supervises Accounting personnel (Accounting, A/P, Credit, Payroll, or A/R) to ensure that they follow policies and procedures, and meet the service level agreements established with their client(s). Generates productivity improvement ideas focusing on reducing transaction costs and increasing efficiencies within the department, as well as across the company. Provides technical expertise and guidance for staff. Supervises a staff.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises day-to-day accounting activities in accordance with the organization’s accounting policies and procedures as the supervisor of a team. (25%)
  • Develops and participates in key improvement projects within Accounting focusing on improving service levels and reducing costs. (20%)
  • Interprets data from accounting records and maintains accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data. (15%)
  • Coordinates accounting services and integrates with operating needs through supervision of a team. (10%)
  • Reviews, verifies, and/or approves transactions and journal entries. (10%)
  • Provides technical expertise and advice to the manager and others, both within and outside of, the Accounting function. (10%)
  • Develops and delivers training to support staff growth and departmental initiatives. Assists in the hiring process for all positions under his/her authority. Performs periodic and annual performance evaluations. Directs the daily management of team time off and work hours. (10%)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Degree: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Years of Experience: ​​5-7 years in Accounting, A/R, A/P, or Payroll
