Job Description

The Support Specialist and Workflow Developer is responsible for providing end-to-end technical support, workflow development, and application maintenance across various business systems. This role ensures the smooth operation of workflow processes, application updates, and the maintenance of ETL systems. The specialist will troubleshoot technical issues, maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs), develop new workflows, and keep the organization’s applications updated and fully functional. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will ensure that workflow systems and applications are optimized to meet business needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Design & Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement workflow processes using a variety of technologies and tools.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather workflow requirements and translate them into functional technical solutions.
    • Optimize existing workflows by identifying inefficiencies and implementing automation where appropriate.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide day-to-day support for workflow systems, troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to software or hardware.
    • Triage and prioritize incidents, ensuring high-priority issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
    • Maintain SLAs by diagnosing workflow disruptions and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and fast response times.
    • Document troubleshooting processes and best practices to create reusable knowledge base content.
  • Application Maintenance & ETL Management:
    • Manage and maintain ETL processes to ensure data integration and data flow between various systems, ensuring smooth extraction, transformation, and loading of data.
    • Continuously monitor applications to ensure they remain up-to-date, functional, and perform optimally.
    • Regularly update applications with patches, fixes, and upgrades to keep them secure and compliant with the latest standards.
  • Development & Programming:
    • Develop and maintain custom applications and workflows using technologies like SSIS, SSRS, SQL Procedures, .NET, Classic ASP/ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP/HTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, and MS SQL.
    • Work on Windows applications to ensure workflow systems are integrated and running efficiently across the organization.
    • Design and implement data integration processes using SQL and other database management tools.
  • Boundary Application Management:
    • Collaborate with external application teams (e.g., SAP, Active Directory, Servers, Server Migrations) to ensure workflows interact seamlessly with boundary applications.
    • Provide technical support for these boundary applications when workflows depend on them for data or services.
  • Environment & Agile Methodology:
    • Manage and support workflows across QA and production environments, ensuring smooth deployment of new features and updates.
    • Participate in Agile methodologies and Sprint planning, working closely with project managers and developers to deliver timely and effective workflow solutions.
  • Low-Code & RPA Solutions (Preferred):
    • Leverage low-code platforms such as Mendix to develop quick, flexible solutions for workflow needs.
    • Implement Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance productivity.
  • Monitoring & SLA Management:
    • Monitor workflow performance and system health to ensure SLAs are consistently met.
    • Generate reports and analyze workflow metrics to identify areas for improvement and track the effectiveness of workflow changes.
    • Proactively implement measures to prevent system failures and ensure continuity of business processes.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to workflow systems and business processes.
  • Incident Triage: Experience in prioritizing and managing incidents based on urgency, impact, and SLA requirements, with the ability to escalate appropriately.
  • SLA Management: Proficiency in monitoring and ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), with a focus on minimizing downtime and improving response times.
  • Programming & Scripting Knowledge:
    • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SQL Procedures, .NET, Classic ASP/ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP/HTML, E-Mail HTML, JavaScript, CSS/DHTML, MS SQL, and Windows Applications.
  • Boundary Application Knowledge:
    • Understanding of boundary applications such as SAP, Active Directory, Servers, Server Migrations, etc.
  • ETL & Data Management:
    • Proven experience managing ETL processes, ensuring smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading between systems.
  • QA & Production Environment Management:
    • Strong understanding and working experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and production environments, ensuring smooth transitions between development and live systems.
  • UI & Modern Technologies:
    • Knowledge of modern UI technologies and user interface best practices for developing engaging and responsive applications.
  • Low-Code Platforms & RPA (Preferred):
    • Hands-on development experience in Mendix or working with low-code platforms, as well as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions (preferred).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support, workflow development, ETL processes, or related roles.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

This job has a full time weekly schedule.
