POSITION SUMMARY
The Summer Learning & Development (L&D) Sales Intern – Instructional Designer will join Vertiv’s NA Sales Training team at the Westerville Academy for Summer 2027, gaining hands-on experience in the full training development lifecycle.
Working alongside experienced Instructional Designers and Sales Trainers, the intern will help design, develop, and produce training materials across multiple delivery formats – including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), eLearning modules, videos, job aids, and assessments – that enable NA Sales teams on Vertiv systems, products, and solutions.
This role offers direct collaboration with subject matter experts, Sales Trainers, and Instructional Designers across the organization. The intern will contribute to meaningful, real-world projects while receiving mentorship and professional development exposure aligned to adult learning principles and Vertiv’s sales enablement strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Development Support:
· Develop learning materials across multiple formats (ILT, vILT, eLearning, videos, job aids, assessments) based on design plans from Instructional Designers
· Build and format content using approved Vertiv templates and brand standards
· Create and update presentation decks, facilitator guides, learner workbooks, and quick reference materials for NA Sales teams
· Support integration of product updates and new solution information into existing training materials
Sales Enablement Projects:
· Support development of sales training programs enabling NA Sales teams on Vertiv systems, products, and solutions
· Assist with new product launch training content development
· Help create sales-focused learning paths, onboarding materials, and value selling content aligned with Vertiv's commercial strategy
Collaboration & Professional Development:
· Work with Instructional Designers and Sales Training Team to execute content development tasks with guidance
· Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and validate technical and sales content
· Participate in review cycles and incorporate feedback into deliverables
· Learn instructional design best practices and adult learning principles, including ADDIE methodology
Administrative & Team Support:
· Maintain organized documentation of project files and development assets
· Support publishing content to the Learning Management System (Docebo)
· Assist with course maintenance and version control
QUALIFICATIONS
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Instructional Design, Business, English, Technical Writing, or a related field.
· Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and formatting consistency.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
· Experience with or demonstrated willingness to learn content creation tools such as Articulate Rise 360, Canva, Camtasia, and Vyond.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills; comfortable collaborating across teams.
· Interest in learning and development, sales enablement, or corporate training.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
· Passion for developing people and enabling business performance.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
· Associates degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technical Writing, or related work experience.
· Certifications in Instructional Design or eLearning Development preferred.
