About the job: 

  • Reviewing, summarizing, and evaluating RAN industry news, press releases, whitepapers, academic research, and other industry sources with specific topics in mind.

  • Technical research into current industry RAN topics, including aspects of AI RAN, O-RAN, Hardware, 6G, and more.

  • Driving projects and proofs of concepts to evaluate concepts and technology in the 5G and AI areas.

  • Evaluate emerging open-source RAN-related software.

  • Present findings, evaluations, and recommendations to product software development group at Huawei HQ.

The total target annual compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.

About the ideal candidate:

  • B.Sc. level or greater in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.

  • Experience with software development and working in and learning existing code bases.

  • Comfort working in new knowledge areas with some requirement ambiguity.

  • Experience working with AI models and aspects that impact their applicability and inferencing performance in strict real time applications, including impacts of execution hardware.

  • Experience with C/C++ development.

  • Background in RAN product software development (3gpp Layers 1-3), either with industry vendor or open source such as OAI, OCUDU, or others.

  • Exposure to using AI coding assistants.
