Job Summary

Provides support to the Placement and Care Coordination department, including cross-training with various department roles to offer coverage as needed, assisting with client outreach and documentation, tracking and following up on data requirements (i.e. Child Placement Agreements, Baker Acts, exit interviews, assessments), assembling and distributing materials for community partners, submitting placement referrals for youth, seeking and keeping record of placement resources, and facilitating discussion or offering mentorship for foster parents with unstable placements.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provide friendly and caring customer contact to foster parents, Child Protective Investigators, Dependency Case Managers, FSS staff, and other stakeholders when contacted with inquiry or service requests. Capture and record all requests accurately and route requests to appropriate personnel within the Placement and Care Coordination teams.  
  • Support other personnel in the process of securing and stabilizing appropriate placements for dependent children, processing placement requests/intakes, conducting client outreach and documenting caseload notes, and completing administrative duties. Track due dates and other data elements, assist in completion of documentation and data entry, and coordinate/facilitate meetings as needed. Assist with collection and tracking of data. Monitor and follow up on completion of Comprehensive Placement Assessments, exit interviews, FSC reviews, and other items as requested.   
  • Seek and maintain record of statewide placement resources and outpatient services available to youth in care. Assist in completing referrals to at-risk facilities or outpatient services as needed.  
  • Operates office machines to include: typewriter, telephone, word processor, computer and printer, facsimile machine, photocopier, calculator, etc. to assist team with scanning, filing, storing, and referral completion. Type general correspondence, responses to inquiries, reports, contracts/agreements, and memoranda. Copy and distribute as needed amongst department staff and partner agencies.
  • Perform other duties. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED required, college degree preferred. 
  • Two or more years of experience in a clerical, data management or related field. Prior experience in social services preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license and must be insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy. Current certification in First Aid and CPR is recommended. Florida child welfare case management certification is required for this position – active certification or ability to meet criteria for certification. Licensing certification preferred.

Schedule & Hours

  • Between the hours of 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday
  • Hybrid schedule post training as schedule permits

  • Provide copy of driver’s license.
  • Provide copy of automobile insurance if deemed to be a driving risk.
  • Positive references.
