We are looking for 2 talented Supply Planning Coordinators to join our 1st Shift team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our Cummins Inc. facility in OshKosh, WI.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, determines the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule or independent customer demand. Expedites purchase or production orders as appropriate.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Ensure uninterrupted supply to meet customer demand by initiating purchase and work orders, maintaining supplier schedules, and proactively managing inventory availability and backorder recovery plans.
• Improve supplier delivery performance by participating in allocation discussions, reconciling critical order boards, tracking action items, and supporting supplier improvement initiatives to increase reliability and responsiveness.
• Optimize inventory levels and material flow by balancing supply with demand, reducing lead times and order quantities, and minimizing excess and obsolete inventory during product transitions.
• Strengthen material planning accuracy by performing quality checks on master data such as lead times, order quantities, and PFEP requirements to support effective planning and execution.
• Reduce supply chain disruptions by collaborating with suppliers, sourcing teams, and planners across the organization to address constraints, reposition excess inventory, and mitigate material shortages.
• Drive successful product lifecycle transitions by managing part change requests and coordinating ramp-up and ramp-down activities that align supply with business and customer requirements.
• Promote operational excellence and compliance by adhering to HSE standards, quality procedures, and standard work processes while promptly reporting and addressing safety, quality, and operational concerns.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and team success by communicating effectively across functions, participating in improvement projects, completing required training, and supporting business goals through flexibility and accountability.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Communicate clearly and proactively with suppliers, planners, sourcing teams, and internal stakeholders, tailoring your message to different audiences and ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and recovery plans.
• Maintain a strong customer-focused mindset by understanding how material availability, inventory decisions, and supplier performance impact end customers and delivering solutions that support customer commitments.
• Drive results and take ownership by proactively resolving supply constraints, following through on action items, and consistently meeting delivery, inventory, and service-level objectives, even under challenging circumstances.
• Effectively manage complexity by analyzing large amounts of supply chain data, balancing competing priorities, identifying root causes, and making sound decisions when faced with conflicting information.
• Continuously optimize work processes by identifying inefficiencies, improving planning practices, standardizing processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance.
• Leverage Materials Planning Systems as your primary tool to manage supply and demand, monitor exception messages, perform root cause analysis, and use supporting tools such as Excel and databases to strengthen decision-making.
• Develop expertise in PFEP, Master Scheduling, and Part Change Management to ensure the right materials are available at the right time, successfully execute engineering changes, and minimize excess or obsolete inventory during product transitions.
• Use KPI-driven decision making and value diverse perspectives by monitoring key supply chain metrics, understanding trade-offs between performance measures, collaborating across functions and cultures, and incorporating different viewpoints to achieve the best business outcomes.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
• Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
