Job Description
The Supply Planner is responsible for centralized sourcing of material for assigned countries and branches within the supply circle of the Distribution Center and will ensure efficient and cost-effective scheduling within the supply area by setting up seamless communication processes between the countries and the Distribution Center as well as continuously improving data quality. Supply Planners will achieve optimum stock levels within the supply area by ensuring the material supply for our customers whilst optimizing the supply network (finding the balance between surplus material and requirements, etc. with the main focus on interbranch material transfers). The Supply Planner will support in regulation of the logistics process assuring timely delivery of material stock. As a Supply Planner, you will implement strategic measures in regards to slow-moving items and coordinate capacities with the Yard Operations team of the DC. In addition, they will work closely with all stakeholders (HQ, region, country organization) on a variety of topics and projects.
Responsibilities:
- Supports and promotes product strategy realization
- Fulfills material demands as well as regulates the logistics process throughout supply circle with the main focus on interbranch material transfers and supply from Distribution Center to branches from supply circle
- Interconnects with other subjects of Doka´s supply network & collaborates with other DC´s and the headquarters; supports and optimizes supply performance
- Develops stock optimization concepts in accordance with Doka strategic direction
- Implements Doka´s global logistics standards & processes for Distribution Centers
- Accountable for maintaining a balance stock and material procurement planning based on business demand
- Supports regional and global transport logistics material exchange (intercompany)
- Supports the implementation of the product strategy, manages the organization of material outflow
- Remotely provides operational support to branches throughout supply circle
- Acts as an interface during implementation of new global SCM software, performs trainings and acts as a key user
Other Responsibilities/Peripheral Functions:
- Actively participates in management meetings as required
- Performs other tasks/projects as assigned, such as participating in company committees/teams.
- Travels to branch offices within supply circle to assist with material management and work flow, identifies issues and recommends solutions.
- Provides training of proprietary intercompany software data systems (PointOut Operations, RapidResponse, Discos II)
Qualifications
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Logistics is a plus
- Must be analytical and possess strong numeric aptitude
- Possess an assertive, take charge management style with an ability to work independently and achieve results with minimal supervision
- Able to work effectively in a team and achieve desired objectives
- Must possess exceptional organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Works effectively in a complex, result driven environment requiring strong decision making skills
- Must possess Doka business know-how and product knowledge (cost calculation, company accounts, inventory valuation, order processing, inventory and data management systems)
- Substantial working knowledge of Doka logistics processes and policies (material/yard/transport logistics)
- Knowledge of Doka´s new supply network concept, strategies & policies
- Excellent command of English required (speaking, reading, writing)
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Advanced proficiency using Doka’s proprietary order processing systems (Discos II)
- Advanced proficiency using Doka’s material tracking systems (Pointout)
