We are currently seeking an exceptional customer service professional to join us as a Supply Chain Specialist:

About Role:

Responsible for supporting the business with timely tactical and strategic support that meets all internal and external stake holder’s requirements including customer service, inventory, cash, quality, cost and delivery targets.

The position requires the individual to robustly follow and contribute towards supply chain processes/standard work for co-ordinating supply of chemical and hardware purchases whilst maintaining a timely flow of information back to the customer.

The job holder will work with colleagues in the Supply Chain to determine the best delivery dates and service for the customer. Depending upon experience will manage the process and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues. From an internal perspective they will work with internal customers to maintain mutually cooperative and efficient working relationships.  There may also be additional requirements to analyze and determine the best source of supply for product; support supplier development initiatives; manage the orderbook process and/or provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Know, understand and incorporate the Wesco Aircraft vision, goals and values in all behaviour, practice and decisions.

  • Follows best practice and contribute towards standard work/processes making recommendations for improvements.

  • Act as a liaison for supply chain with customer and internal operations on material and component optimisation, new product cost analysis, delivery commitments, order book management, design readiness and manufacturing producibility.

  • Executes procurement transactions on time and to the required service level set by the business.

  • Supports supplier development activities.

  • Identify profit, cash and inventory reduction initiatives.

  • Coordinates with procurement on negotiating pricing, contracts, and terms & conditions.

  • Executes and owns a dedicated group of suppliers and customers of the end-to-end supply chain ensuring high levels of communication and responsiveness.

About You:
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent.

  • Demonstrable relevant and appropriate work experience in supply chain.

  • Demonstrated hands on application and concept of ERP systems (for example: JDE, tcmIS).

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tactical buying functions.

  • Proficient IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office Excel.

  • Ideally be CIPS Qualified or working towards accreditation.
