Responsible for project implementation and support of key objectives to drive enhancements in supply chain. The role will involve a variety of financial non-nursing functions around supply chain management for patient care and clinical procedural areas. This position will play a key role in overcoming operational challenges through establishing and implementing sustainable practices that elevate the performance of the institutions supply chain to match clinical quality with fiscal accountability under the direction of Sr. Director of Supply chain at SEMC.
Must have the ability to lead a project from inception to completion while documenting milestones and challenges; ability to report key results to leaders clearly and effectively.
Essential duties:
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies and cost savings and assisting with elimination of redundancy in practices
- Engages with department supply chain leaders to manage key metrics to make process enhancements to drive reportable statistics to drive improvements
- High level oversight of hospital-based Clinics and procedural areas for non-stock specialty order products that include management of inventory, creating accurate purchase requisitions for products needed and following up on back orders, stockouts, allocations, etc.
- Providing complete and accurate data reports to managers and end users in a timely manner understanding the importance of critical care items and successful product conversions as directed by BMC corporate VA team
- Delivers support for product recalls, products failures, returns, and product outdates performing problem solving skills and reports to specific detail on reportable outcomes
- Strong and effective communication skills relating to adjustment of par levels and product conversion education where needed as directed working with leadership and implementing products changes
- Participate in performing inventories and cycle counts providing analytical review and reporting of data in a manner that allows for identification of opportunities to drive organizational improvements
- Liaison to/with physicians, nursing leaders, and technicians to respond effectively to requests on product/supply matters having varying impacts on department ability to provide services for our patients responding effectively
- Ensures back up support for supply chain leaders and staff as needed
Education and Experience
HS Diploma plus 3- 5 plus years’ experience in medical supply chain. Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Strong customer service skills along with computer experience with word, excel and Prefer Lawson/information systems
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment who is highly organized with problem solving skills and who is sensitive to requests and demands to meet our patient needs
Demonstrates professional personal behavior and courteous interactions with all they encounter respecting diversity of patient/customer population (age, culture)
Special Working Conditions
Ability to physically move supplies, u-boats, bins , etc. througout the facility as needed and also receive calls off shift for questions on location of supplies or issues relating to obtaining them
