Supply Chain Procurement Specialist / Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist - 18465
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist / Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the SDS Division.

What You’ll Get To Do:
• Source and procure several commodities such as hardware components, COTS items, machined components in support of programs.
• Proficiency in the procurement process, including but not limited to price analysis, negotiations, policies and procedures, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
• Resolves procurement challenges without established precedent, including sole and single-source environments, non-comparable pricing scenarios, and scope ambiguity requiring independent analytical judgement.
• Interprets technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, statements of work, and engineering change orders to support procurement decisions.
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams during proposal phase to align procurement strategy with program requirements and bid timelines.
• Leads sourcing efforts across diverse and challenging commodity portfolios, including emerging technologies, cutting edge systems, and end-of-life/obsolete components requiring creative procurement solutions.
• Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers
• In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
• Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required
• Interfacing and collaborating with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain
• Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.
• Person should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized.
• Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications for Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Or a Master's degree with 0 years of professional experience in supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing or a closely related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security Secret clearance
Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment

Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 5 years Or a Master's degree with minimum of 3 years of professional experience in supply chain management, business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, manufacturing or a closely related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security Secret clearance
Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Preferred Qualifications for Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist:
Experience supporting government proposal efforts or familiarity with Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR) pricing requirements, including price analysis, sole-source justifications, or cost/price evaluations preferred
Experience in leadership, critical thinking, and innovative behaviors in supply chain projects or roles
Experience in MS Office suite.
Experience in supporting suppliers/ customers/ requestors, working to Statement of Work
