The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for the creation and communication of the clinical and commercial supply plan for production of preclinical, phase I, phase II, and phase III clinical and commercial materials in a cGMP biopharmaceutical pilot plant including planning/scheduling of batches production  and supporting activities, coordinating vendor relations (including change notices), procurement, and integration of raw materials and supplies, and managing the supply chain logistics for material external and internal to the facility while ensuring compliance to relevant regulations.  The Supply Chain Planner will also be responsible for long range planning and capacity/demand models.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Responsible for the creation, accuracy, and communication of the bulk clinical and/or commercial supply plan. 

- Maintains schedules of production activities and SAP master material system. 

- Tracks timelines to ensure critical milestones are achieved. 

- Adjusts plan and timelines based upon changes in development/production plans.

- Coordinates procurement of raw materials and consumables based upon BOMs. 

- Ensures materials are received per schedule and are suitable for use.

- Manages the supply chain logistics including oversight of material status and  working closely with Warehouse staff. 

- Works with outside vendors and suppliers to acquire and deliver materials based upon manufacturing schedule. 

- Determines capacity requirements for raw materials, consumables, intermediates, and product.

- Manages inventory management system including the process recipes and BOMs of commercial production. 

- Provides input into design of system.

- Develops long range forecasts working with site management and area heads including assessment of raw materials, consumables, lab supplies, and resource requirements.

- Creates and maintains capacity/demand models for planning.

- Ensures adherence of operations to cGMP, ICH, EMEA and JP Guidelines as well as industry safety standards and OSHA guidelines.

- Interacts cross-functionally with Production Operations, Facilities, R&D, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Project Management, Procurement, and Finance and other internal and external functions to support successful product development.

Requirements

Education:  Bachelors in biological sciences, engineering, business or operations management

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 yrs. experience in supply chain planning at a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company.
  • Knowledgeable in supply chain planning and management.
  • Knowledgeable in material movement and logistics.
  • Flexibility to multi-task and adjust to varying priorities to meet timelines and schedule changes.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, cGMP, EMEA, and JP regulations.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team player who can excel in a “hands-on” entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
  • Onsite role in Exton 4-5 days a week depending on business needs.
