Job Purpose & Scope
Responsible for maximizing service levels while minimizing inventory levels. Manage production orders and purchase orders for materials release to manufacturing plants to keep the high efficiencies in operations. Maintain the data integrity for the ERP-SAP system.
What You Will Be Doing
- Ensure smooth and cost-efficient flow of production & goods movement operations.
- Maintains ERP- SAP planning system parameters to efficiently manage inventory targets and material pipeline.
- Achieve or exceed on time shipment (OTS) targets.
- Performs effectively as central planning communication point between customer service and operations groups.
- Uses discretion and independent judgement to communicate decisions to peers and facilitate teamwork.
- Produces solutions to various challenges and problems, and able to connect one issue with the bigger picture.
- Analyses and structures information and communications to meet audience’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with Sales and service departments regarding servicing and prioritizing customer orders as needed
- Analyze inventories to maintain lowest possible inventory level while still meeting customer order requirements and service levels (OTS)
- Execute SAP MRP and replenishment activities for assigned products and locations. Functionality including and not limited to: action messages, netting functionality, pegging, dependent demand.
- Understand constraints of the supply chain, assess and incorporate information, communicate with production, purchasing, warehousing and service departments to manage an efficient planning process.
- Prevent shortage situations by proactively managing and monitoring inventory levels for assigned materials and material types.
- Initiate efforts to minimize and dispose of slow moving, obsolete, and expiring inventory.
- Communicate supply related issues to management and impacted areas
- Review and update Planning and Scheduling Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy
- Maintain Master Data integrity and manage Master Data related issues that interfere with business performance and processes.
- Establish and manage master production schedules for finish goods products within capacity constraints
- Establish and maintain relationships with production department to achieve high schedule attainment rates.
- Prepare necessary analytical reports specific to Inventory/Production/Sales plans.
- Continuously look for ways to measure performance and improve the planning processes.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
What You Bring
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in production planning or master scheduling role required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- APICS (Association of Production and Inventory Control society) or other professional certification preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- SAP knowledge and experience required.
- Knowledge of MRP functionality.
- Proven knowledge of BOM usage, structures and where used functionality.
- Production planning and inventory control techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve problems independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize team work flow.
- Demonstrated ability on accuracy and data integrity.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office – emphasis in Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Ability and inclination to challenge data integrity concerns and recommend changes to improve current processes and procedures within team.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel to production and warehouse locations
